Strategy
Iron Frontier
★★★★☆ 4.4
Iron Frontier is the kind of strategy game I keep a save going for weeks. You settle a region, manage resources, and fend off waves that get smarter as you expand. The clever bit is that terrain matters — a river or a ridge can turn a losing defense into an easy one if you read the map right.
The interface took a session to click, but once it did, planning a base became genuinely absorbing. There's a nice tension between growing fast and staying defensible, and I lost a couple of settlements early by being greedy. Lesson learned.
It plays well in bursts or long sits, and the pace never feels artificially slowed to nag you. For a mobile strategy game, it's admirably deep without being a spreadsheet.
